The Arabian Sea backdrop, the Konkani traditions, the unrivalled seafood, the warm Tulu culture — Peninsula Del Mar is quietly becoming India's most exciting wedding venue.
For years, Udaipur and Jaisalmer have dominated India's destination wedding conversation. Goa is perennially popular. But a quiet revolution is happening on the Karnataka coast, and Peninsula Del Mar sits at its centre.
The Setting
The resort occupies a promontory where the Arabian Sea wraps around three sides, creating a natural amphitheatre for outdoor ceremonies. The main wedding lawn — the Horizon Lawn — accommodates 400 guests in a garden setting with the ocean as the backdrop. The Sunset Pavilion, cantilevered over the rocks above the waterline, seats 80 for intimate beach dinners or cocktail receptions.
The Cuisine
The Konkan coast produces some of India's most distinctive regional food — and Peninsula Del Mar's culinary team has built its reputation on it. The wedding menu typically opens with a Mangalore bajji and chutney station, moves through coastal curries (kane fry, crab gassi, chicken sukka), and closes with bebinca, a layered Goan-Konkani dessert that few guests have encountered before.
The Cultural Experience
Tulu culture is warm, vibrant and deeply family-oriented — qualities that translate beautifully to the wedding setting. We incorporate the region's traditions with respect and authenticity: a yakshagana performance, a kambala-themed décor package, or a Pili Vesha (tiger dance) procession to escort the baraat.
Who Comes Here
Peninsula Del Mar weddings tend to be Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra families who want a beach destination without Goa's noise, and who appreciate the distinctiveness of a Konkan setting over the more familiar Rajasthani palace template.
Capacity & Planning
The property can accommodate up to 600 guests across its three event spaces. The in-house events team handles everything from permits to accommodation block-bookings to flower procurement from the local Udupi market.
